📋 Description

• Match shippers with transportation services to transport goods and vice versa • Act as liaison between clients and transportation companies • Ensure timely, cost-effective, and safe freight delivery • Negotiate rates, track shipments, and resolve issues while adhering to regulatory requirements • Locate suitable transportation carriers from origin to destination • Build carrier databases through daily prospecting based on assigned locations • Maintain carrier databases and update customer and carrier information • Create loads under the correct customer category • Accurately build and close jobs within the system • Update carrier insurance data during setup • Screen carrier reviews for unacceptable behaviors before onboarding • Follow up on carrier payments • Complete weekly carrier performance reviews and submit them to relevant personnel • Ensure carriers submit PODs within customer-specified timelines • Build manufacturer/distributor databases through daily prospecting • Communicate shipment delays or setbacks to customers to minimize escalation • Set up every driver using the required system • Ensure carriers understand shipment tracking requirements when booking loads

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years’ experience as a Broker • Operations Management experience would be an asset • 5 successful passes or more at CSEC or equivalent • Diploma in a related field is preferred • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) • Protect company and customer information in accordance with company policies and procedures • Self-motivated and able to work independently • A strong work ethic • Outstanding people skills • Knowledge of carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, and shipment coordination
