📋 Description

• Own the technical direction of the Order Management module, a greenfield system translating approved Media Plans into legally binding orders • Design backend architecture for the order lifecycle, document generation, contract management, and integrations • Design order state machines, approval workflows, idempotent transitions, and audit events • Own the PDF generation pipeline, including templates, reusable fragments, bundles, placeholder resolution, versioning, and contract-library scoping • Design and own reliable integrations with planning systems and DocuSign using asynchronous processing, retries, reconciliation, and observability • Drive architectural alignment through design documents and RFCs • Define cross-cutting engineering patterns, review complex technical proposals, and enable senior engineers to make sound technical decisions • Help define responsible adoption of AI-assisted development and code-review standards for generated code • Design scalable, evolvable backend APIs for dashboards, search, and pipeline visibility • Create alignment across Product, Legal, Operations, and Engineering • Improve production reliability, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience building and operating backend systems in production • Experience leading the architecture of complex distributed systems • Deep hands-on experience with event-driven architectures, particularly Kafka • Strong understanding of idempotency, event sourcing, state machines, and asynchronous workflows • Experience designing and operating production-grade microservices • Ability to address retries, reconciliation, eventual consistency, and failure recovery • Strong Node.js backend expertise, including asynchronous programming, testing, and operating services in production • Ability to define technical direction in ambiguous, greenfield environments • Ability to take ownership of complex technical problems and clarify ambiguous requirements or solutions • Ability to influence engineers through technical leadership and communicate ideas through design documents and RFCs • Ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions balancing scalability, maintainability, and business impact • Ability to identify architectural risks early and simplify complex systems • Experience in contracts, document workflows, or e-signature platforms such as DocuSign is a plus • Valid work permit for the role’s location and eligibility to work there; Factor Eleven does not provide work-permit or visa sponsorship
