📋 Description

• Assess and evolve the platform architecture across the data layer, API surface, frontend application, and deployment infrastructure • Write production code daily across React, Node/NestJS, PostgreSQL, and AWS • Design multi-tenant systems addressing tenant isolation, data partitioning, role-based access, and per-tenant configuration • Integrate security through authentication, authorization, encryption, input validation, API hardening, and compliance readiness • Profile, benchmark, and optimize database, caching, frontend rendering, and bundle performance • Build monitoring and alerting for system degradation • Architect for horizontal scaling, load management, connection pooling, asynchronous processing, and increased tenant and traffic demands • Establish engineering patterns, conventions, and quality standards • Mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and pair on complex problems • Evaluate and adopt modern development tools, including agentic coding tools such as Claude Code • Monitor emerging trends in software engineering, AI-assisted development, infrastructure, and developer tooling • Support DevOps, debugging, customer escalations, hiring interviews, and other team needs • Report to the Senior Engineering Manager

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a meaningful portion spent in full-stack roles building web applications at scale • Experience in high-ambiguity environments with limited resources and shifting priorities • Deep proficiency in at least one modern web stack • Comfortable working across React, TypeScript, Node.js/NestJS, PostgreSQL, and AWS • Proven ability to own system architecture and make foundational technical decisions • Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and common vulnerabilities • Ability to design authentication and authorization systems • Performance engineering skills, including bottleneck identification and efficient data access patterns • Strong shipping discipline and pragmatic delivery • Experience using agentic coding or AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Copilot • Bias for ownership and action • Preferred: experience in healthcare, biotech, or life sciences • Preferred: experience with early-stage or growth-stage companies • Preferred: experience designing developer-facing APIs or platform primitives • Preferred: background in event-driven architectures, CQRS, or domain-driven design • Preferred: familiarity with Terraform, CDK, Pulumi, and CI/CD pipeline design • Preferred: experience with penetration testing, security audits, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 compliance • Preferred: track record of evaluating and introducing tools or frameworks based on measured outcomes • Preferred: open-source contributions or public technical writing
