📋 Description

• Lead, scale, and mentor a team of Data Engineers • Provide leadership and high-level management for the DBA team • Drive critical infrastructure initiatives across streaming and batch environments • Lead hands-on platform projects using GCP, BigQuery, dbt, and Apache Flink • Embed AI into pipeline code, platform operations, and data access layers • Partner with and support the DBA team to ensure transactional database reliability, uptime, and integration with the analytical platform • Set standards for data quality, testing, observability, and cloud-resource cost optimization • Align pipeline development with business decisions and product goals • Write code, review pull requests, and tackle complex system problems directly

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience leading data engineering teams with a willingness to write code, review PRs, and tackle complex system problems directly • Strong background in Google Cloud Platform, specifically BigQuery and cloud data processing • Practical expertise with dbt for transformation models and Apache Flink (or Dataflow) for real-time streaming data • Active user of modern AI coding assistants and automation workflows; passionate about leveraging AI to scale team impact • Comfort managing relational database teams such as PostgreSQL/MySQL without needing to perform deep day-to-day DBA execution • High standards for clean architecture, platform governance, and documentation • Excellent communication skills • Advanced English level • Spanish speaker is a nice plus • Equivalent competencies in the listed requirements will also be considered
