📋 Description

• Set technical direction for Cloud Signals systems, including architecture, design documentation, and staged technical plans • Lead the Fivetran and dbt billing integration, including data models, usage pipelines, reconciliation, and migration strategy • Evolve Vortex into a reliable, cost-efficient, scalable event platform • Grow the Notification System into a dependable shared service • Collaborate with Product, Finance, RevOps, Data, and partner engineering teams across both companies • Prototype solutions and fill gaps in specifications before committing to a direction • Define SLOs, improve alerting and runbooks, participate in on-call, and lead incident response and blameless postmortems • Mentor engineers at every level and provide code and design reviews • Promote effective and responsible use of AI tools in the software development lifecycle • Partner with engineering leadership on roadmap, staffing, and build-versus-buy decisions across teams, departments, and time zones

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years building and operating production software, with a track record of technical leadership on large, cross-team projects • Deep experience designing distributed systems and backend services, with a strong focus on correctness, idempotency, and data integrity • Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and high-volume streaming or messaging systems such as Kafka • Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling, plus experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake • Proven ability to design, build, and consume APIs and integrate with third-party systems • Production experience with at least one major cloud provider, preferably AWS • Production experience with containers and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes • Production experience with infrastructure as code, including Terraform • Strong operational mindset, including observability, SLOs, on-call, incident management, and zero-downtime migrations • Ability to identify design flaws and lead incremental improvements while continuing to ship • Excellent written and verbal communication, including clear design documentation and explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical partners • Fluency with AI coding assistants, coding agents, and conversational AI for software development and SDLC artifacts • Bonus: experience with billing, metering, usage-based pricing, telemetry or analytics pipelines, notification platforms, ETL/ELT, dbt, modern data stack tools, or post-merger system integration
