📋 Description

• Design and develop reliable, observable, and easy-to-operate backend microservices and data pipelines • Develop, test, deploy, and monitor your own code throughout the entire CI/CD lifecycle • Take ownership of the production environment • Contribute to the migration to AWS by developing and operating services on AWS and helping migrate existing pipelines • Work with AI agents to generate and evolve code, focusing on architecture, review, quality, correctness, and robustness • Conduct code reviews of code developed by people and generated by AI • Participate in architecture decisions, trade-offs, risk identification, and alternative evaluation • Drive end-to-end initiatives with support from the Tech Lead and Tech Manager • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and pair programming • Help raise the team’s technical capabilities

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience in backend engineering in production environments, designing, developing, and operating microservices at scale • Solid knowledge of DevOps, including CI/CD, containerization, observability, and current industry-standard operational practices • Hands-on experience with AWS, developing and operating services in production • Hands-on experience with AI tools for software development, directing AI agents and reviewing, correcting, and strengthening generated code • Senior-level autonomy to take end-to-end ownership, from solution design through production deployment • Proactive and collaborative mindset, with the ability to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and work in partnership with the team • Clojure, functional programming, or JVM languages such as Java are a plus, but not required • Experience with event-processing and messaging systems, such as Kafka or similar technologies, and high-volume data pipelines is a plus • English is a plus; fluency is not required • Experience migrating workloads between cloud providers, such as from GCP to AWS, is a plus
