📋 Description

• Lead the Frontend Platform and Navigation squads, owning performance, delivery and customer outcomes • Set expectations, delegate, coach and develop team members, provide feedback, address performance gaps and build trust and accountability • Own hiring and team planning across both squads • Lead discovery with customers, community members and internal users to shape roadmaps and priorities • Partner with Product, Design and engineering leaders to set priorities, resolve dependencies and make trade-offs • Own delivery from discovery through rollout and measurement, including milestones and risk management • Use AI in management work to synthesise research, inform roadmap and resourcing decisions, and streamline coordination and reporting • Lead adoption of AI and automation across engineering and operational workflows • Set engineering direction for frontend foundations, developer experience, accessibility, architecture, tooling, reliability and multitenant capabilities • Set engineering direction for navigation, search and resource organisation • Uphold engineering standards for quality, security and operability, including evaluation of AI-assisted work • Lead improvements across Grafana and R&D that increase engineering productivity and business outcomes • Participate in the engineering management on-call rota and drive improvements that reduce recurring disruption • Use Grafana AI capabilities for observability and incident investigation, contributing feedback to product roadmaps

🎯 Requirements

• Significant experience managing senior engineers, building healthy teams and developing technical leaders • Strong technical foundation in modern web or frontend systems • Track record of turning ambiguous, cross-team problems into clear priorities and measurable results • Strong product and customer judgement • Clear, concise written communication • Ability to work effectively in a remote, globally distributed organisation • Appreciation for open-source development • Practical experience using AI and automation in leadership work and leading teams to adopt them • Experience with React, TypeScript or comparable large-scale frontend ecosystems (bonus) • Experience leading a developer platform team, including support for plugins or extensions (bonus) • Experience with navigation, search, information architecture or resource-management products (bonus) • Experience delivering multitenant SaaS or major platform migrations (bonus) • Experience working on a widely adopted open-source product (bonus)
