• Review, redline and negotiate NDAs, partner and vendor agreements, banking and payment-provider contracts, and service agreements in French and English. • Draft from templates and build a bilingual playbook of standard positions, fallback clauses and red lines. • Translate legal and regulatory documents between French and English. • Provide clear recommendations on whether documents should be signed and with what changes. • Prepare and review licence applications, regulator correspondence and responses to information requests in Cameroon and the CEMAC zone. • Track regulatory change in Cameroon and the CEMAC zone and assess implications for products and licences. • Review and maintain AML/CFT policies, KYC procedures and compliance documents. • Manage company secretarial work for the Cameroon entity, including incorporation documents, filings, board resolutions and statutory registers. • Manage external counsel in Cameroon, including scope, quality and costs. • Support the Cameroon country manager, partnerships and operations with practical legal input. • Maintain a live tracker of owned documents and filings, including status, blockers and next dates.
• A law degree; admission to the bar or an equivalent professional qualification is welcome but not required. • Roughly 3–6 years reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, in a law firm, in-house or in a compliance function. • Excellent French and English, written and spoken. • Ability to redline a contract, write to a regulator and run a negotiation call in either language. • Sound commercial judgement. • Clear, short writing and ability to summarise complex agreements for non-lawyers. • Working knowledge of Cameroonian law across both civil-law and common-law systems. • Evidence of high agency, self-drive, ownership, initiative, independent problem-solving, fast learning and reliability. • Experience in fintech, payments, mobile money, banking or digital assets is a plus. • Hands-on payment or e-money licensing experience, or direct dealings with BEAC, COBAC or the Ministry of Finance, is a plus. • Knowledge of OHADA company and commercial law is a plus. • Experience with AML/CFT, data protection or sanctions compliance is a plus. • Experience managing external counsel is a plus.
