📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate backend services in PHP and Go • Drive extraction of services from the monolith by defining boundaries, ownership, and migration paths • Collaborate with the Product Manager on technical direction and backend service value • Design and ship APIs for agentic interfaces, AI agents, and automated workflows • Improve page speed and end-to-end performance with frontend peers • Contribute to high-level architectural decisions • Use AI tools to accelerate code delivery • Progressively extract services with clear ownership and minimal delivery disruption • Improve page speed, latency, and uptime • Enable reliable consumption of the domain through clean APIs • Support AI-assisted development while maintaining code quality and ownership • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Design and contribute to product direction

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer • Strong foundation in software engineering • Strong-level proficiency in PHP and/or Golang, with willingness to work in both • Experience designing and operating high-traffic, customer-facing systems • Experience decomposing monoliths or extracting services • Experience designing REST, GraphQL, or similar APIs, including clarity, versioning, and consumability • Familiarity with event-driven service-oriented architectures and Domain Driven Design (DDD) principles • Comfortable using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot • Experience working in a cloud environment; AWS is a plus • Experience with message queues such as AWS SQS is a plus • Must be physically based within EMEA
