📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate Trust backend services integrating external identity data sources • Expand global coverage by onboarding new countries and data sources • Build abstractions that make future integrations more efficient • Model inconsistent upstream data into consistent verification results • Develop matching and validation rules for identity data • Design resilient systems with timeouts, retries, idempotency, backpressure, circuit breaking, graceful degradation, compatibility testing, SPOF elimination, and monitoring • Handle sensitive personal data with regional residency and compliance requirements • Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and postmortems • Drive engineering quality through code reviews, CI practices, runbooks, and mentoring

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building large-scale backend applications with Python, including event-driven and async architectures with message queues (e.g. SQS, RabbitMQ, or similar) • Hands-on experience integrating with third-party APIs at scale • Proven ownership of production-critical services and on-call responsibilities • Deep experience designing resilient distributed systems, including idempotency, retries, backpressure, timeouts, and backwards compatibility • Strong data modelling skills • Strong understanding of modular design approaches and SOLID principles • Hands-on experience building scalable, maintainable APIs • Proficiency in testing strategies for robust and reliable software, including testing external dependencies • Solid understanding of relational database fundamentals • Familiarity with structured logging and observability practices • Strong communication skills and ability to work with Product, Compliance, and external data providers
