📋 Description

• Manage the accounting function for Netherlands-based business entities • Integrate newly acquired entities into the accounting function • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and consolidated reporting under US GAAP • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including financial statements and variance analysis • Collaborate with subsidiary teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting • Oversee monthly invoicing and billing processes • Perform special projects and analysis assigned by the CFO International • Assist with audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries • Monitor company-wide cash balances and ensure adequate liquidity • Collaborate with Treasury on cash flow forecasting and cash management • Support business planning, annual budgeting, and periodic forecasting for the Netherlands • Provide financial insight for strategic and commercial decision-making • Evaluate and enhance internal financial controls • Develop, document, and implement accounting department SOPs • Manage finance integration supporting a centralized shared service center • Support corporate tax compliance, statutory reporting, transfer pricing, and international tax reporting • Lead and mentor the accounting team • Provide guidance on accounting standards and tax compliance • Supervise staff, set goals, conduct training and performance appraisals, and support recruiting and hiring

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • Professional financial qualification, such as Chartered Accountant • 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting • 2+ years of experience leading others • Proven experience establishing standardized accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures • Extensive experience with cash flow forecasting and cash balance monitoring • Proficiency with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP), CargoWise, and other ERP systems • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and international accounting standards • Experience working with private equity firms and understanding their reporting requirements and processes • Experience with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory compliance • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products • Familiarity with the transportation and logistics industry is a plus
