📋 Description

• Analyze requirements and RFCs and develop efficient software designs • Participate in determining the future direction of satellite systems and related products, including software architecture, infrastructure performance, testing, and reliability • Document, design, develop, test, and integrate software functionality for satellite-system components and related environments within an Agile framework • Collaborate on design and validation with a multifunctional Scrum team of software, firmware, embedded, application, and test engineers • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during software-solution deployment • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electronics and communication engineering, information technology, a related subject area, or equivalent experience • 7+ years hands-on C/C++ software development experience • Ability to design, implement, debug, and maintain PHY-MAC control-plane software on embedded ARM/Linux or X86 platforms • Experience developing and optimizing real-time signal-processing algorithms on programmable DSP processors such as CEVA, NXP, or similar architectures • Strong programming experience with Vector C/C++, including SIMD/vectorization and DSP algorithm optimization • Experience implementing fixed-point DSP and digital communications algorithms on programmable DSP platforms • Experience with development, debugging, profiling, and performance optimization tools for programmable DSP processors • Experience partitioning communications/PHY functionality between FPGA fabric, programmable DSP processors, and embedded ARM processors is highly desirable • Experience integrating programmable DSP-based PHY implementations with higher-layer software, MAC/control software, FPGA interfaces, and embedded ARM processors in a complete modem or wireless communications system • Familiarity with 5G NR/5G NTN MAC and PHY-MAC interactions • Experience solving real-time embedded issues involving threading, optimization, memory management, and interrupt handling in multi-core/multi-CPU environments • Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP) and sockets programming • Understanding of 3GPP standards and 5G architecture is desired • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS/Azure) is desired • Strong problem-solving, communication, presentation, documentation, and writing skills • Self-motivated, with technical leadership potential and success in a structured development environment • Ability to drive technical solutions collaboratively • Strong software design skills, Object-Oriented Design, and Object-Oriented Programming techniques • Experience developing quality and maintainable software • Technical leadership and mentoring experience • Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment • Working knowledge of UML is strongly desirable • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices across the full software development life cycle • Experience/knowledge in satellite/terrestrial communications systems is desired • Working experience with GDB and Valgrind • Experience with version control systems such as git is strongly desired • Experience with Jira and Jenkins is desired • Experience developing unit, integration, and functional tests, including test automation in a CI/CD pipeline, is desired • Shell scripting or Python is desired • May be required to provide information for export-license, governmental authorization, security-clearance, or other regulatory determinations
