📋 Description

• Own the IT function end-to-end across systems, identity, access, onboarding, offboarding, tooling, and vendor relationships • Design a security posture for BYOD, contractor workflows, distributed teams, and cross-border data realities • Rationalise the SaaS stack, eliminate shadow IT, consolidate overlapping tools, and deliver monthly savings • Implement identity and access management across portfolio companies • Build and improve processes that help teams work faster and more centrally, including AI-enabled workflows • Support baseline cybersecurity, governance, and compliance requirements • Collaborate with security consultants when needed and manage related work end-to-end • Lead, write, and document runbooks and explain IT risks and tradeoffs in plain English • Build a scalable IT function that does not depend on the role holder

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT functions in start-up/scale-up environments • Experience building an IT function from scratch or meaningfully restructuring one • Remote or hybrid experience supporting distributed teams • Strong identity and access management foundation • Builder mindset; ability to ship systems that run without you • Confidence defending technical decisions and bringing stakeholders along • Clear communication and documentation skills • Nice-to-have: fully remote experience • Nice-to-have: experience supporting a BYOD workforce • Nice-to-have: familiarity with PIPEDA or other Canadian privacy requirements • Nice-to-have: exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks • Nice-to-have: experience running cybersecurity and compliance • Nice-to-have: prior portfolio or multi-entity IT experience • Experience with Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, ClickUp, Figma, and AI tools is relevant to the core stack
