📋 Description

• Serve as the database subject matter expert for the Foundation squad, responsible for supporting and administering the platform’s databases • Support squads through the ticketing system by resolving incidents and requests involving query tuning, index optimization, and structural maintenance within agreed SLAs • Ensure data availability and integrity by managing backup and restore routines, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery • Guide and train development and backend teams on data modeling, high-performance queries, and schema change reviews • Support database integration with APIs and backend services, data pipelines, BI/Analytics tools, and Machine Learning workflows • Monitor data volumes and performance, create optimization routines, and plan future processing and storage capacity • Manage database access, permissions, and security best practices • Automate operational routines and document procedures, environments, and standards while encouraging knowledge sharing

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience in database administration (DBA) in critical, high-transaction environments • Strong hands-on knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL • Experience with MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB, or Elasticsearch • Experience with non-relational databases (NoSQL) • Strong command of performance optimization, including query tuning, indexing, execution plan analysis, and partitioning • Experience with backup and restore routines, replication, and high availability • Experience with managed cloud databases such as AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL, or similar services • Experience in microservices ecosystems, supporting backend, BI, and Data Science teams • Strong communication skills to guide developers and align priorities across different squads • Analytical and disciplined approach to ticket- and SLA-based support, resolving requests efficiently and systematically with a focus on root cause analysis • Knowledge of database monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, and Percona PMM or similar solutions • Automation of routines using Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripts, as well as infrastructure as code with Terraform • Experience with data replication for analytics pipelines, such as CDC, Debezium, and AWS DMS or similar solutions • Knowledge of data masking and LGPD compliance • Database or cloud certifications
