📋 Description

• Design and develop mechanical frames, enclosures, and support structures for data center power and cooling products. • Design and integrate hydronic systems including pumps, piping networks, valves, and heat exchangers. • Perform advanced structural analysis using FEA tools under static, dynamic, seismic, and thermal loads. • Analyze load paths, stress concentrations, and fatigue life of structural components. • Design metal enclosures considering airflow, thermal containment, EMI shielding, and environmental protection. • Evaluate materials, coatings, and fabrication technologies. • Participate in customer engagements and site visits to understand deployment constraints. • Create CAD models and fabrication drawings for weldments, sheet metal, and machined parts. • Select materials and fabrication methods to optimize cost, performance, and reliability. • Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and systems engineering teams. • Lead mechanical design reviews and cross-functional design validation. • Maintain BOMs, specifications, test plans, and engineering change orders. • Drive design-for-manufacturability, cost reduction, and performance improvements. • Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve fabrication issues and ensure quality. • Support lifecycle management, obsolescence planning, and alternate sourcing. • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical failures or field issues. • Ensure designs support airflow management, thermal containment, and cooling-system integration. • Collaborate with compliance and certification teams on regulatory requirements. • Mentor less experienced engineers. • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and fabrication. • Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor. • Proficiency in FEA software such as ANSYS or Abaqus. • Strong knowledge of welding, sheet metal forming, and machining. • Experience with structural design for heavy equipment or large assemblies. • Familiarity with thermal and airflow considerations in enclosure design. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. • Ability to read and interpret technical publications, procedures, and regulations. • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedural guides. • Ability to present information and respond to management, clients, and public queries. • Ability to influence others and share best practices. • Ability to assess projects, articulate risks, and develop milestones. • Familiarity with stage-gate processes in project lifecycle management. • Ability to mentor less experienced engineers. • Experience with hydronic systems, fluid dynamics, pressure-drop calculations, and pipe sizing. • Preferred: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. • Preferred: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license. • Preferred: Data center, telecom, industrial power/cooling product design experience. • Preferred: Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards for data center infrastructure. • Preferred: Prototype fabrication and testing experience. • Preferred: Experience with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.
