📋 Description

• Investigate and solve problems across the complete camera pipeline, from hardware interfaces and Linux kernel drivers through Android and multimedia frameworks • Analyze kernel logs and driver behavior • Trace frames through V4L2 and the ISP • Debug MIPI CSI-2 communication • Investigate Android Camera HAL behavior • Tune GStreamer pipelines • Determine whether issues originate in the sensor, hardware interface, kernel, driver, multimedia stack, or higher software layers • Own complex technical topics from investigation through solution • Contribute to camera architecture and engineering decisions • Take responsibility for cross-platform camera architecture and board bring-up deliverables across Linux and Android • Develop and maintain Linux camera drivers, including V4L2 sub-device drivers • Integrate, maintain, and optimize Android Camera HAL components • Design and validate Device Tree / DTBO overlays, including power, reset, and MCLK configuration • Develop automated media graph validation, streaming verification, and long-running stress test suites • Tune image quality pipelines using vendor-provided IQ tools • Collaborate with hardware teams to validate and troubleshoot CSI timing, PHY configuration, and camera sensor integration • Collaborate with silicon and camera vendors to support platform integration and resolve technical issues • Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to camera bring-up and platform integration • Support performance optimization, platform stability, and long-term maintainability • Work with globally distributed technical stakeholders on camera and video technologies for smart automation and control systems

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of embedded/low-level development experience • 4–5+ years focused on Linux / Android BSP and camera or multimedia subsystem integration • Strong C/C++ programming skills • Strong experience with Linux kernel camera drivers and V4L2, including sub-device drivers • Proven experience integrating and maintaining Android Camera HAL • Hands-on experience with camera sensor bring-up and board-level integration • Experience with Device Tree / DTBO overlays, including power sequencing, reset, and clock (MCLK) configuration • Experience with ISP and image quality (IQ) pipelines, including 3A algorithms (AE, AWB, AF), LSC, and TNR • Ability to debug complex camera pipelines across kernel and user space • Experience with Git/Gerrit and build systems (Yocto or AOSP) • Strong understanding of embedded Linux and Android system architecture • Experience with camera validation and debugging frameworks • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Experience with Qualcomm’s CHI pipeline • Experience with ISP pipelines and proprietary HAL implementations • Knowledge of multimedia frameworks such as GStreamer or OpenCV • Experience working with high-resolution or multi-camera systems • Familiarity with automated validation frameworks for camera subsystems • Understanding of Android CTS/GTS compliance and metadata policies
