📋 Description

• Perform forensic investigations • Conduct field observations, testing, and data collection • Prepare technical reports detailing observations, testing results, research, analysis, and opinions or recommendations • Provide consultation to clients • Prepare and deliver technical papers • Serve as an expert witness • Evaluate residential, commercial, and industrial building roofing, fenestration, foundations, and envelopes • Assess hazards and resulting damage • Evaluate design and construction defects • Conduct premises liability evaluations • Meet with and present to peers and clients • Engage in client-relations business development and marketing • Travel regularly to local and regional project sites • Conduct site inspections using ladders and working at heights

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school • PE or SE license • Highly qualified and experienced EI/EITs are considered • 0 to 5 years of experience as a forensic engineer • Experience and/or willingness to learn climbing moderate to steep-pitched roofs using hand rope assist, rope-and-harness, aerial lifts, etc. • Willingness to work at heights • Familiarity with modern building codes and industry standards • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills • Willingness to travel and conduct site inspections • Desire to learn, excel, and grow with the company and profession • Experience in engineering design or construction preferred • Experience conducting damage assessments and forensic investigations preferred but not required • Storm damage and building envelope evaluation experience is a plus • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds • Ability to travel to various project sites and conduct field investigations • Ability to work at heights and in hot and cold environments, indoors and outdoors • Ability to access and work on pitched roofs, scaffolds, lifts, elevated surfaces, attics, and crawlspaces with appropriate personal protection • Ability to lift, transport, set up, and use an extension ladder • Physical ability to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods • Willingness and ability to use a valid driver’s license for local and regional travel
