• Perform forensic investigations for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings • Conduct field observations, testing, and data collection • Prepare technical reports detailing observations, testing results, research, analysis, and opinions or recommendations • Provide consultation to clients • Prepare and deliver technical papers • Serve as an expert witness • Evaluate roofing, fenestration, foundations, building envelopes, hazards, damage, design and construction defects, and premises liability • Meet with and present to peers and clients • Engage in client-relations business development and marketing • Travel regularly to local and regional project sites • Work at heights and access elevated surfaces during site investigations
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school • PE or SE license • 0 to 5 years of experience as a forensic engineer; highly qualified and experienced EI/EITs considered • Experience and/or willingness to learn climbing moderate to steep-pitched roofs using hand rope assist, rope-and-harness, aerial lifts, etc. • Willingness to work at heights • Familiarity with modern building codes and industry standards • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills • Willingness to travel and conduct site inspections • Desire to learn, excel and grow with the company and profession • Valid Driver's License • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds • Must be able to travel to various project sites and conduct field investigations • Must be able to work in hot and cold environments, indoors and outdoors • Must be able to access and work on pitched roofs, scaffolds, lifts, elevated surfaces, enclosed spaces, attics, and crawlspaces with appropriate personal protection • Must be able to lift, transport, set up, and utilize an extension ladder • Physically able to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time
