📋 Description

• Develop and evolve Leaseweb Managed Kubernetes, a platform enabling customers to deploy, manage, and update their own Kubernetes clusters at scale • Automate deployment, management, patching, and deletion of Kubernetes clusters across Leaseweb's compute offerings • Architect, explore, evaluate, integrate, and tune Kubernetes components • Advise on best practices and identify issues before they reach production • Develop and tune monitoring, alerting, logging, dashboards, alerts, and metrics using the SRE philosophy • Deploy new Kubernetes versions and update components to maintain platform security • Investigate production issues, troubleshoot, contribute to runbooks, and create permanent fixes • Help design new features for Leaseweb customers • Support customers and development teams • Participate in regular on-call duty as Engineer on Duty • Share Kubernetes expertise with engineers in other teams and mentor colleagues • Contribute to cross-functional efforts and align solutions with department architecture standards • Identify opportunities for team and platform improvement

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes at scale, supporting multiple clusters across different environments including production • Good knowledge of the CNCF & Kubernetes ecosystem, including comparing choices and stating tradeoffs for common technology choices • Mastery of ArgoCD or a similar GitOps tool for continuous delivery • Solid understanding of GitOps, SRE, and DevOps principles • Demonstrable knowledge of Kubernetes inner-workings, components, networking and storage fundamentals • Experience working with and architecting cloud-native applications • Solid knowledge of Linux operating systems • Experience performing standard system administration tasks, including OS maintenance, networking, DNS, and backups • Good communication skills in English • Experience with containerized application packaging and deployment • Scripting skills in Shell and/or Python for automation and tooling • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling • Experience with Golang (nice to have) • Previous contributions to open-source projects such as Kubernetes or related tools (nice to have)
