• Review customer utility accounts and billing histories to identify high-value accounts requiring investigation • Download and organize historical utility bills and supporting documentation • Create and maintain standardized folder structures and audit files • Prioritize accounts based on billing thresholds and potential financial impact • Standardize utility statements into clean PDFs for data extraction and analysis • Use AI-powered tools to extract up to 24 months of billing data into structured spreadsheets • Analyze billing data using Month-over-Month and Year-over-Year comparisons • Review billing dates, charges, consumption, rates, tariffs, meter types, rate classes, and itemized generation, transmission, and delivery costs • Identify irregular usage patterns, billing anomalies, unjustified charges, and possible overbilling • Manually validate AI-generated data against original utility bills • Research property characteristics and operational factors affecting utility usage • Prepare targeted client questions about property operations and consumption patterns • Investigate incorrect rate classes, meter types, and tariff violations • Calculate potential historical overcharges and document evidence for audit findings • Verify utility tariffs, rate schedules, regulations, and supporting documentation through official sources • Manage multiple high-priority accounts while maintaining accuracy and organization
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field is preferred • Previous experience in data analysis, auditing, utility billing, energy management, financial analysis, or forensic analysis is highly desirable • Strong analytical skills for identifying patterns, anomalies, discrepancies, and potential errors in large financial and operational datasets • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets • Experience handling large volumes of documents and maintaining organized digital filing systems • Familiarity with AI-powered data extraction or document analysis tools is an advantage • Experience reviewing utility bills, tariffs, rate schedules, meter types, or energy consumption data is preferred • Strong research skills and ability to interpret official utility, regulatory, and public sources • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to manually verifying data accuracy • Ability to compare Month-over-Month and Year-over-Year performance and identify unusual variances • Strong problem-solving and investigative skills • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • High level of integrity, accuracy, and discretion when handling client financial and operational information • Reliable computer, noise-canceling headset, second monitor, stable internet connection, and backup internet connection • Availability to work 9am to 6pm US Eastern Standard Time (EST)
