📋 Description

• Design, model, and develop the complete GCP data ecosystem for a client, including Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery • Gather, analyze, model, and document business and technical requirements • Maintain direct contact with clients • Model data from various sources and technologies • Troubleshoot and support complex, high-impact problems • Deliver new features and functionalities • Design and optimize data storage architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, and distributed file systems • Implement partitioning, compression, and indexing to optimize data storage and retrieval • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, tune queries, and implement caching strategies • Monitor system performance, identify anomalies, and conduct root cause analysis • Resolve issues related to data processing, storage, and infrastructure • Train and mentor less experienced data engineers

🎯 Requirements

• Active sole proprietorship (B2B) required throughout the duration of the agreement • At least 8–10 years of experience as a Data Engineer • 6+ years of experience in GCP cloud-based infrastructure and systems • Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and cloud computing services • Extensive experience designing, building, and deploying cloud data pipelines • Experience ingesting data from databases, APIs, or streaming platforms • Proficiency with SQL, including BigQuery, and NoSQL database management systems • Programming skills in SQL, Python, and other scripting languages • Proficiency in data modeling, database optimization, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning • Knowledge of at least one orchestration and scheduling tool; Airflow is required • Experience with ETL and ELT data integration techniques • Knowledge of modern data transformation tools such as dbt and Dataform • Ability to collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders • Ability to participate in or lead client discussions • Knowledge of Git, Jira, and Confluence • Experience in multinational environments and distributed teams • Willingness to learn new technologies and solutions
