📋 Description

• Provide expert technical support to customers through product selection, design-in, troubleshooting, and integration of optical components and modules • Act as the primary technical point of contact for assigned customers, providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support • Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer needs and present Lumentum solutions • Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and customer training sessions • Assist with product selection, system architecture design, and integration challenges • Troubleshoot technical issues, diagnose root causes, and provide timely customer solutions • Gather customer feedback and requirements and communicate them to engineering and product management teams • Develop and maintain relationships with key customer technical personnel • Generate technical reports, application notes, and other customer-engagement documentation • Stay current with industry trends, competitor products, and Lumentum's product roadmap • Travel to customer sites as required for on-site technical support and relationship building • Influence architecture and design selection • Present technical concepts to senior technical customers, including VP Engineering and CTO-level stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related technical field • 3–5 years of experience in field application engineering, applications engineering, design engineering, or architecture within the optical communications industry • Strong understanding of optical components and modules, including lasers, transceivers, ROADMs, and amplifiers • Proficiency in optical communication systems, network architectures, and relevant industry standards such as OIF and ITU-T • Experience with optical test and measurement equipment, including optical spectrum analyzers, power meters, and BER testers • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly • Comfort presenting to senior-level technical resources, including VP Engineering and CTO-level stakeholders • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment • Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
