📋 Description

• Own and evolve the Cloud & Backend roadmap • Translate the engineering vision into priorities, trade-offs and next steps • Drive cross-team architecture decisions and ensure they are documented and followed through • Establish shared technical standards and guardrails • Work hands-on with engineers on AWS and Terraform • Review designs and pull requests and challenge technical choices • Coach and pair with engineers • Help spread knowledge and support growth of seniority and ownership • Collaborate with product owners, QA, engineering leadership and colleagues in Japan • Balance technical direction with product, regulatory, security and cost considerations • Advance automated infrastructure, safer deployments and stronger observability without a big-bang rewrite • Lead through influence across Connect engineering teams while modernising a live healthcare platform

🎯 Requirements

• At least 6+ years of experience in cloud/backend engineering • At least 2 years in a technical leadership role such as tech lead, staff engineer or principal engineer • Experience aligning multiple people or teams around technical direction and decisions • Hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) • Experience reviewing designs and pull requests • Experience with serverless and event-driven architectures is valuable • Experience with serverless AWS and Node.js/TypeScript technology stacks • Ability to translate technical choices into clear trade-offs for engineers, product owners, QA and other stakeholders • Experience coaching, pairing, reviewing and sharing knowledge • Understanding of security, compliance and regulatory boundaries • Openness to working in a Holacratic organization • Fluency in English • Must already live and work in The Netherlands
