📋 Description

• Lead the engineering team in identifying and scoping well-defined tasks • Execute project scope and remain accountable for timely, high-quality delivery • Design systems and make architectural decisions supporting rapid customer growth • Mentor peers through 1:1s, design and code reviews, and continuous guidance • Test and monitor systems and code, write documentation, and participate in on-call support • Reduce technical debt, share knowledge, invest in teammates’ health and happiness, optimize application performance, and accelerate feature velocity • Promote collaboration, transparency, creativity, inclusion, and data-driven decision-making • Build mapping tools and reliable services that scale across request volumes, markets, and use cases • Write application code, build and deploy microservices, diagnose complex system behavior, and facilitate continuous delivery

🎯 Requirements

• 8-10+ years of experience building scalable high volume low latency backend services • Proficiency with Python, NodeJS, and native AWS (CDK, ECS, Step Functions, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFront) • Experience building mapping and geospatial related products • Familiarity with code versioning tools, such as GitHub • Able to independently perform all development tasks based on designs and specifications • Self-starter who is communication and outcomes-oriented • Empirical analytical approach: develop hypotheses, conduct spikes, and communicate findings clearly • Desire to share expertise through documentation, mentorship, pairing, and written and verbal discussion • Desire to work with and lead individuals with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences • High-quality mindset, including writing unit tests, proactively remedying defects, and following through to production • Proficiency in C++ is nice to have
