📋 Description

• Offer individual and group counseling sessions to seafarers to address a range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, loneliness, and occupational stress. • Be available to provide on-call support to seafarers in crisis situations or in need of immediate assistance, ensuring that mental health support is accessible at any time, regardless of location or time zone. • Work closely with other members of the MHG team, including medical professionals, counselors, and maritime experts, to develop comprehensive mental health support programs tailored to the needs of seafarers. • Conduct psychological assessments to identify individual needs and develop personalized treatment plans for seafarers, incorporating evidence-based practices and culturally sensitive approaches. • Offer training sessions and workshops to seafarers and maritime companies on mental health awareness, stress management techniques, and strategies for promoting psychological well-being at sea. • Keep accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions in compliance with ethical and legal standards, ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of seafarers' information.

🎯 Requirements

• A doctoral or master's degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution. • At least 5 years of experience as a psychologist or psychotherapist. • Licensure or certification as a psychologist or psychotherapist, with relevant experience in providing mental health services. • Specialization in areas such as clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or maritime mental health is preferred. • Experience working with diverse populations and cultural sensitivity in addressing mental health needs. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trust with seafarers from different backgrounds. • Flexibility and availability to provide on-call support outside of regular business hours as needed. • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining the confidentiality of client information.
