📋 Description

• Own and deliver the most complex, risky, or ambiguous technical challenges • Implement enterprise-scale infrastructure-as-code using Terraform across networking, security, governance, compute, and PaaS • Build CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, self-service tooling, and observability infrastructure • Write comprehensive unit, integration, and validation tests, along with runbooks, diagrams, and implementation notes • Troubleshoot complex issues across networking, identity, security, and infrastructure layers • Optimize implementations for performance, cost, security, and maintainability • Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response for critical platform issues • Challenge architectural designs against implementation reality and validate technical feasibility • Provide constructive pushback on approaches that ignore delivery constraints or compromise quality • Identify hidden complexity, dependencies, risks, unrealistic timelines, and unclear requirements • Propose alternative technical approaches based on hands-on experience • Participate in design sessions, ADR reviews, design-pattern reviews, and story refinement • Help decompose features into implementable stories with clear acceptance criteria • Validate story sizing, complexity estimates, prerequisites, dependencies, and technical feasibility • Conduct code reviews of Terraform modules, Azure Policy definitions, and pipeline configurations • Mentor engineers through pairing, constructive review feedback, guided problem-solving, workshops, demos, and technical deep-dives • Document complex implementations and troubleshooting approaches for the knowledge base and playbooks • Work as a senior individual contributor alongside Cloud Architects and Technical Leads in the Cloud Platform Team

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on infrastructure engineering in cloud environments • Expert-level Terraform experience at enterprise scale, including 50+ production modules/stacks • Deep Azure experience across networking, security, governance, compute, and PaaS services • Proven delivery of complex infrastructure in regulated industries, including banking, financial services, healthcare, or government • Agile/Kanban multifunctional team experience with architects, engineers, DevOps, and security • Track record of constructive challenge and proposing feasible alternatives • Production troubleshooting experience resolving complex technical issues • Mentorship experience through pairing and hands-on collaboration • Terraform expertise in modules, state management, composable stacks, testing, patterns, and anti-patterns • Azure expertise including VNets, NSGs, Firewall, private endpoints, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Entra ID, RBAC, PIM, Key Vault, Policy, compute, and PaaS • CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions • Git workflows, testing frameworks, and scripting with PowerShell, Bash, and Python • Knowledge of secure-by-design, IaC best practices, hub-and-spoke networking, observability, resilience, and disaster recovery • Microsoft ecosystem integration experience with M365, D365, Fabric, and Power Platform • Relevant degree desirable, or equivalent competencies in college • Azure certifications AZ-305 and AZ-400 desirable • Knowledge of Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zones desirable • Container orchestration experience with Kubernetes, ACA, or AKS desirable • API Management, Logic Apps, Event Grid, SRE, or DevOps transformation experience desirable • Open-source contributions desirable • Experience with multiple IaC tools such as Bicep and Ansible desirable • FinOps/cost optimization knowledge desirable • Knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC2, or NIST security frameworks desirable
