📋 Description

• Manage and mentor a team of engineers designing, developing, and maintaining product features • Ensure code and design quality align with industry best practices and high standards • Coach team members on high-level design, architecture, effort sizing, and testing practices • Provide engineers with feedback on day-to-day job performance • Guide engineers’ individual learning and development plans • Initiate hiring and allocate resources needed to support the team • Remove impediments or guide the team in removing them • Oversee implementation of the software development process • Lead a dedicated engineering team building and scaling Focal, with a focus on innovation, reliability, and impactful customer solutions

🎯 Requirements

• BS/MS from a top school in Computer Science or any related field • 10 years of software engineering experience, preferably in SaaS or large-scale distributed applications • Previous team leadership experience • Solid communication skills and ability to convey technical solutions to end-users and engineering teams • Ability to briefly explain sophisticated issues in systems and processes • Experience with multiple programming languages • Proficient understanding of system design and distributed computing principles • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as HBase, Cassandra, and MongoDB • Solid understanding of the Scrum agile framework and other software development processes
