📋 Description

• Define target architecture and data models for a new Snowflake-based warehouse on Azure using Medallion Architecture principles • Lead evaluation and implementation of the semantic layer and BI tools such as Cube, Hex, Lightdash, or Metabase • Establish and enforce a Definition of Done covering documentation, testing, and peer review • Architect a proactive data quality framework using dbt tests and observability patterns • Interface directly with the CEO and product owners to translate business needs into technical solutions • Manage expectations, clarify scope, and address unrealistic requirements while maintaining architectural soundness • Own sprint planning, backlog grooming, and the quarterly roadmap • Translate business priorities into a sequenced delivery plan, surface risks, and align stakeholders on scope, timeline, and trade-offs • Serve on interview panels for future company roles

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience building and managing data platforms within the Azure ecosystem • Experience designing and delivering a modern warehouse using Airbyte/Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, and a semantic layer/BI • Deep expertise in Dimensional Modeling (Star Schemas), EDW principles, and Medallion Architecture • Experience implementing automated testing and data observability at scale • Prior experience as a Tech Lead, Data Architect, or Analytics Engineering Lead • Demonstrated ability to own a technical roadmap end-to-end, break down multi-month initiatives into sprints, manage a backlog using Jira, Linear, or similar, and communicate status and trade-offs to non-technical executives • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum or iterative delivery cadence • Disciplined Definition of Done approach requiring tasks to be tested, documented, and validated • Comfortable holding ground under scrutiny and direct feedback • Outcome-oriented approach focused on business analysis needs • Full responsibility for platform integrity and reliability • Legal work authorization in the country of residence, verified through documentation • TDD experience is a significant bonus
