📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate scalable backend services and supporting infrastructure • Own production systems end to end, focusing on availability, performance, observability, and operational readiness • Build and maintain reliable ETL and data-processing pipelines for production workloads • Work with PostgreSQL and ClickHouse on data-intensive systems, including schema design, query performance, and data lifecycle needs • Develop and operate event-driven processing with Kafka and integrate it with backend services • Build and improve cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP using Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code • Improve deployment and operations through CI/CD, monitoring, and automation • Collaborate closely with partner teams • Build and operate backend systems and infrastructure supporting Akamai's security platform

🎯 Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering in production environments • Backend engineering skills in one or more general-purpose languages • Experience building and operating production services • Experience designing distributed systems • Experience debugging complex performance and reliability issues • Hands-on PostgreSQL experience, including data modeling, schema design, query performance, migrations, and troubleshooting • Experience with ClickHouse and Kafka, or similar analytical database and event-streaming technologies • Experience building ETL or data-processing pipelines • Experience supporting analytics or Data Science workflows • Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code
