📋 Description

• Develop, maintain, and evolve Aurora component kits: ReactKit, AstroKit, and AppKit • Keep component contracts consistent across component kits • Contribute to Aurora’s visual and interaction language in Figma and code • Build internal design tooling including Figma plugins, CLI utilities, CI checks, prototyping tools, and AI-native workflows • Champion design automation, Storybook, and testing strategies • Guide, train, and support product development teams adopting the Aurora design system • Provide technical input during design, prototype interactions, and translate concepts into polished, interactive, performant UI components • Implement animations and micro-interactions • Build and maintain accessible WCAG AA-compliant components • Own technical implementation and architecture of design system components • Maintain high standards for code quality, performance, and design fidelity

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience building, maintaining, and scaling design systems • Deep understanding of design system principles, component architecture, and token strategies • Strong product design fundamentals, visual hierarchy, typography, spacing, and interaction design • Ability to make sound design decisions independently and contribute to design • Strong command of JavaScript, modern CSS including TailwindCSS, and semantic HTML • Ability to become productive in an unfamiliar stack quickly • Figma fluency with variables, component architecture, and accurate design-to-code translation • Advanced practical experience with Storybook.js for component development, documentation, and testing • Experience working with design tools like Figma and translating designs accurately into code • Excellent cross-disciplinary collaboration skills • Bonus: experience shipping across web and native platforms • Bonus: Astro or another islands/SSG framework in production • Bonus: shipped Figma plugins or REST API integrations • Bonus: GSAP, Three.js/WebGL • Bonus: platform team experience • Bonus: Style Dictionary v4 or comparable token pipeline experience and DTCG familiarity
