📋 Description

• Own 5 AWS accounts across the organisation • Architect and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform • Replace existing click-ops with infrastructure as code • Build usable CI/CD pipelines, including blue/green and canary deployments where appropriate • Run releases reliably and reduce key-person risk in the deployment process • Set up monitoring, alerting, and incident response • Define SLIs and SLOs that map to real user journeys • Lead incident response as the primary infrastructure responder • Run blameless post-mortems • Patch and harden the platform • Lead infrastructure work for the TV launch, including traffic spikes, autoscaling, capacity planning, and runbooks • Partner with backend engineers on production issues involving the application tier • Architect multi-region disaster recovery and drive the platform toward self-healing • Optimise costs across DynamoDB, Lambda, and the wider AWS footprint • Set architectural guardrails with tech leads and software engineers • Mentor engineers as the platform capability grows

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years hands-on AWS experience in production • Experience with VPC, IAM, EC2/ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, Route53, RDS, DynamoDB, and SQS • Production Terraform experience; Terragrunt is a plus • Multi-environment state management • Production Kubernetes and Docker experience; EKS specifically • Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, or ArgoCD • GitOps practices • Strong infrastructure security experience: IAM least privilege, secrets, patching, vulnerability scanning, and MFA enforcement • Observability experience with CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or ELK • Solid backend competency in Java (Spring Boot), Python, or Node • Understanding of JVM, concurrency, and async systems • Comfort being the senior infrastructure person; self-directed, opinionated, and disciplined about documentation • B2/C1 level English
