📋 Description

• Develop and enhance features on existing backend services and cloud infrastructure • Monitor, triage, and resolve platform and service incidents • Build internal tooling and automation to improve team efficiency and system reliability • Work across multiple services and systems with varying contexts, priorities, and timelines • Collaborate with teammates on design, implementation, and code review • Participate in an on-call support rotation and contribute to operational runbooks • Apply AI-assisted and spec-driven development practices where they accelerate quality delivery • Build, operate, and evolve mission-critical backend systems powering Tablo devices and Outset's application ecosystem • Work on brownfield systems by adding capabilities, refining features, building tooling, and supporting cloud operations • Work remotely anywhere in Mexico, with infrequent travel to the Tijuana and/or San Jose offices as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on software engineering experience; internship experience counts • No specific degree requirement; demonstrated skill and track record matter more than credentials • Experience with Java (Spring Boot, Maven) or a comparable backend language and framework • Working knowledge of at least a few AWS services, such as EC2, ECR, ECS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Cognito, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CodePipeline, or CodeArtifact • Familiarity with containerization and CI/CD pipelines, such as Docker, Jenkins, or equivalent • Demonstrable communication skills and proven ability to express ideas clearly and manage competing priorities across teams • Proven track record of fast learning and independently picking up new tools, systems, or domains and delivering on them • Practical appreciation for software quality, best practices, and clean engineering • Comfort working on existing systems and improving them safely • Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database • Familiarity with Kafka or distributed messaging systems • Exposure to static analysis tooling, such as SonarQube or equivalent • Awareness of AI-spec-driven or AI-assisted development workflows • Familiarity with microservice architecture patterns and distributed systems concepts • Experience contributing to brownfield codebases
