📋 Description

• Assist attorneys with trial preparation by organizing case files and conducting in-depth legal research • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and client correspondence pertaining to criminal defense matters • Review and summarize evidence, including police reports and witness statements, to support case strategies • Maintain an organized case management system and ensure documentation is properly filed and accessible • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to streamline case progress • Coordinate exhibits and organize materials for trial preparations • Conduct legal research to aid in case development and strategic planning • Assist with administrative tasks including billing and case management duties when required

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience within a legal setting • 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on criminal defense being highly desirable • Comprehensive understanding of criminal law and pertinent legal principles • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail • Fluency in English is required • Familiarity with US criminal law on both state and federal levels • A minimum of one year of experience in a law office or legal environment • Solid writing and drafting skills • Experience with CLIO Manage software is a plus • Strong customer service skills • Able to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment • Experience with case management software is an advantage
