📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement payment solutions supporting stable and consistent payment processing • Support and extend the existing Perl-based payment gateway • Design and build high-performance Python microservices • Architect and implement scalable, distributed Python services replacing legacy components • Integrate and manage third-party APIs and external payment services • Ensure seamless transaction flows and robust error handling • Lead code reviews and drive engineering best practices • Identify system bottlenecks and improve performance and scalability • Collaborate with DevOps to improve GitLab CI/CD pipelines • Architect solutions using AWS services such as Lambda and ECS • Apply a product mindset to understand business logic, user impact, and feature rationale • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in distributed systems • Maintain zero-downtime reliability for merchants

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with deep Python expertise (FastAPI and AsyncIO preferred) • Genuine eagerness to learn and work within Perl production code is mandatory • Proven experience building and scaling microservices architectures and high-throughput systems • Deep understanding of integrating third-party APIs, including webhooks, callbacks, idempotency, and retry policies • Strong experience with Docker/Containerization • Solid grasp of AWS cloud infrastructure, including Lambda, SQS/SNS, and cloud networking • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ • Track record of owning features from design to production • Ability to support and mentor other engineers • Strong English communication skills, written and verbal
