📋 Description

• Own group accounting end to end across a growing European multi-entity setup • Bring additional accounting scope in-house as the company expands • Run the month-end close, including calendar and task management, reconciliation, and sign-off • Own actuals and ensure reported numbers are accurate, reconciled, and explainable at entity and group level • Transition and scale accounting activities in-house • Manage reconciliations, intercompany accounting and eliminations, statutory requirements, and VAT • Own the group accounting ledger and establish close-related controls • Manage local tax and compliance providers across markets • Partner with FP&A and FinOps on actuals, AP and AR subledger reconciliation, coding rules, and exceptions • Build the accounting playbook through processes and SOPs • Identify accounting activities for standardization or automation and define decision rules and exceptions • Prepare for statutory audits, own schedules, and act as a company-side counterpart • Help shape scalable AI-enabled accounting workflows for plancraft’s growth

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience owning month-end close end to end across multiple entities • Experience with reconciliations, intercompany accounting and eliminations, statutory requirements, and VAT • Experience managing external accounting and tax providers • Experience transitioning accounting activities in-house • Confident stakeholder management, including challenging internal stakeholders, auditors, and external tax advisors constructively • Multi-country accounting experience, ideally in a shared service environment • Strong understanding of mature accounting processes and ability to build and improve processes • Experience owning an ERP-grade accounting ledger • High degree of autonomy and proactivity • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort in a fast-moving scale-up environment • AI-first and automation-oriented mindset • Experience in a high-growth or scale-up environment • Excellent English communication skills, written and spoken • German HGB accounting, group consolidation, transfer pricing, or management recharge experience is nice to have • Experience acting as company-side counterpart during a statutory audit is nice to have • Familiarity with DATEV, Abacum, Candis, Pliant, Stripe, or comparable finance tools is nice to have • Further European languages, particularly Spanish or Italian, are nice to have • Strong written documentation skills and experience creating practical SOPs are nice to have • Legal right to work in the EU or the specific country where the role is located • No visa or work permit sponsorship is available
