The platform offers branded iOS/Android/web apps, waitlists and priority access, integrated payment processing, and tools for events, lessons, and pro-shop sales.

📋 Description

• Design and build Playbypoint's external API, with versioning, stability, and scalability • Develop and maintain MCP servers and skills exposing Playbypoint capabilities to AI agents and developer tools • Own the developer experience, including API documentation, developer portal, onboarding flows, SDKs, and sandbox environments • Define API governance practices, including versioning strategy, deprecation policies, backward compatibility, and breaking-change management • Build infrastructure for observable and reliable external surfaces, including rate limiting, authentication, throttling, and usage analytics • Partner with product and internal engineering teams to expose platform capabilities through consistent integration contracts • Track and shape how human and AI builders integrate with Playbypoint • Work with AI tools across design, coding, code review, testing, debugging, and incident analysis

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with significant focus on API design, platform development, or developer tooling • Comfortable across the full stack, including backend API design and frontend developer portal/documentation surfaces • Experience designing and shipping public or partner-facing APIs at scale, including versioning, auth models, rate limiting, and the full lifecycle of an external API • Hands-on experience building AI-era integration surfaces, such as MCP servers, agent skills, LLM tool definitions, or similar patterns • Experience building or contributing to developer portals, SDKs, or documentation systems • Understanding of backward compatibility, contract stability, and breaking-change management for external APIs • Comfortable working across teams to define integration contracts • Strong written and spoken English • Actively use AI tools throughout the development lifecycle • Experience building AI-powered tooling or agents that shipped to production
