📋 Description

• Set the engineering direction across Retail Media and Marketplace domains • Decide where the platforms should converge or remain separate • Lead and grow an engineering organisation of around 40 engineers across 5–7 teams • Develop Engineering Managers and their teams • Shape the organisation as the domains evolve • Create an environment with clear ownership and autonomy • Own delivery, reliability, architecture and technical debt • Raise engineering maturity and enable teams to move quickly without compromising quality • Co-own roadmaps with Product and Commercial teams • Connect engineering priorities to take rate, advertiser ROAS, seller economics and contribution margin • Lead engineering relationships with external platforms, integrators and agencies • Make build/buy/partner decisions • Oversee integrations, SLAs and vendor performance • Report to the Executive Director of Engineering / VP of Engineering • Partner closely with Product and Commercial leadership to turn engineering strategy into measurable business outcomes

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading multiple engineering teams through managers or leads • Experience successfully leading organisations through significant change, such as merging domains, introducing new scope or replacing a platform • Experience developing commercial B2B platforms such as a marketplace, retail media, ad tech, payments or a seller/partner platform • Experience with high-traffic and transactional systems • Strong technical judgment combined with commercial thinking • Ability to connect engineering decisions to business outcomes • Confidence partnering with senior Product and Commercial stakeholders • Demonstrated measurable improvements in engineering excellence • Comfort navigating ambiguity, external partners and competing priorities • Strong English communication skills
