📋 Description

• Lead a small team of 4–8 ML researchers while remaining hands-on • Set direction, priorities, review work, unblock team members, and support career growth • Balance hands-on research and team leadership at approximately a 50/50 split • Identify, define, and drive company-wide research projects impacting core metrics • Design and implement deep neural network models predicting Internet-user behavior and preferences • Develop and test modeling approaches for issues such as bidding in first-price auctions • Conduct and analyze A/B tests • Follow Machine Learning research and translate findings into practical improvements • Mentor researchers and shape research practices across teams • Own projects end to end from conception through analysis, proof of concept, testing, implementation, and deployment

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as researcher or engineer • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Machine Learning / Data Science • At least 2 years of experience managing and mentoring an engineering or research team • Proficiency in programming • Sound mathematical knowledge and intuitions • Strong individual-contributor capability in applied ML research • Ability to solve unclear problems and define measurable goals • Hands-on experience writing code, training models, running experiments, and shipping ML systems • Team leadership, project prioritization, stakeholder communication, and mentorship • Experience in AdTech is a plus, but not required • Strong theoretical mathematics framework, experience hiring and building research teams, and experience leading applied research in a production environment are nice to have
