📋 Description

• Lead technical discussions to identify gaps in the telematics data platform and influence the roadmap by setting direction and recommending solutions • Collaborate with engineering teams on design decisions and downstream product implications to ensure a seamless customer experience • Ship customer-value features and refine them based on feedback • Deliver full-stack features across front-end, back-end, and mobile tiers using technologies including GoLang, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, and React Native • Maintain production systems owned by the team and provide operational support • Impact core architecture, roadmap, and the wider engineering community • Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales globally • Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, high-performing team • Build agentic platform capabilities for reporting and intelligence, enterprise administration, developer and agent platforms, or business-critical infrastructure such as billing, license assignment, and usage metering • Use AI tools such as Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor throughout design, implementation, testing, and production investigations

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience, including hands-on work building and operating complex enterprise systems • Track record of turning partially defined customer or business challenges into technical direction, execution plans, and measurable outcomes with substantial autonomy • Strong system design judgment, including service boundaries, dependencies, failure modes, performance, and safe changes to production systems • Experience leading delivery through deep ownership of a critical system or coordination across multiple services and teams • Ability to improve other engineers’ effectiveness through mentoring, design reviews, and clear technical decisions • Extensive use of AI throughout engineering, including complex investigations and design exploration, with the ability to validate results and help teammates adopt effective workflows • Experience building customer-facing web and mobile workflow applications • Experience contributing significant value to customers • Curiosity about customers and eagerness to improve their day-to-day experience • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail • Strong communication skills for teamwork and project collaboration • Experience in at least one relevant enterprise-scale production area: reporting and data systems, enterprise administration, developer and agent platforms, billing and monetization, or full-stack product development
