• Own the banking platform roadmap supporting accounts, deposits, cards, and lending on a single ledger and account model • Evaluate core banking platforms and processors, conduct vendor diligence, model cost and time-to-market, and support build-versus-buy decisions • Shape account hierarchies, sub-ledgers, chart-of-accounts mapping, posting rules, holds, interest and fee accrual, and general ledger integration • Own product requirements for transfers, ACH, card issuing and network settlement, real-time rails, returns and reversals, exception handling, cutoff windows, and settlement reconciliation • Ensure reporting, traceability, controls, reconciliation breaks, balance attestation, and complete transaction history for Finance, audit, and regulators • Partner with Compliance and Legal to translate regulatory requirements into platform capabilities • Own data mapping, parallel-run strategy, validation criteria, rollback plans, and phased cutover for migrations • Write detailed technical specifications, API contracts, event schemas, data models, user stories, and release plans • Write SQL, define platform KPIs, and monitor posting latency, reconciliation break rate, settlement accuracy, and failure rates • Anticipate technical risks, edge cases, race conditions, and dependencies • Deliver against evolving regulatory and business timelines with incomplete information
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another technical discipline (required) • 5–10 years of product experience, including meaningful financial infrastructure experience • Real ownership in ledgers, general ledger or balance and transaction systems; payments processing or money movement; card issuing; deposit, wallet or account platforms; lending platforms; or processor, BaaS provider or core banking vendor product work • Comfort with double-entry accounting concepts, including debits and credits, sub-ledgers, accruals, and reconciliation, or genuine willingness to learn them quickly • Deep technical understanding of APIs, event-driven architecture, idempotency, distributed-system failure modes, batch versus real-time processing, and data flows • Strong SQL skills and ability to query and interpret data independently • Experience working directly with Compliance, Legal, Finance, or Treasury stakeholders • Ability to work in ambiguity and make sound, documented decisions with incomplete information • Strong written and verbal communication • Hands-on familiarity with AI tools, data models, or generative AI applications
