📋 Description

• Lead one or more client or internal project teams from scoping through delivery and shipping • Set technical direction and own end-to-end project delivery • Mentor, give feedback to, and grow engineers • Architect solutions and make technical decisions across the project stack • Review code and contribute hands-on in the codebase • Hire and interview future teammates • Partner with product, design, founders, clients, and stakeholders to turn ideas into production products • Translate vague requests into phased, executable plans • Run and support multiple projects simultaneously • Help shape Sierra Studio’s engineering culture and development practices

🎯 Requirements

• Experience leading project teams and owning delivery end to end • Track record of mentoring and growing engineers • Strong communication skills for team alignment, stakeholder management, and clear feedback • Experience turning vague requests into phased execution plans • Fluent written and verbal English communication • Senior-level hands-on engineering experience • Strong architecture and technical decision-making across a project’s stack • Ability to run and support multiple projects simultaneously • Experience with prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic patterns • Backend experience with either Python (e.g. FastAPI) or TypeScript • Ability to quickly learn new skills in the AI space • Experience using AI tools such as Cursor or Claude Code • Bonus: Experience building products with LLMs • Bonus: Curiosity about new AI developments • Bonus: Product and design partnership experience • Bonus: Consulting or client-facing experience integrating systems into enterprise infrastructure • Bonus: Comfort navigating customer IT, security review, and change-management processes
