📋 Description

• Prepare bookkeeping, VAT returns and draft year end accounts for UK small business clients • Keep clients’ books up to date in Xero, including bank reconciliations, sales and purchase ledgers, and month- and year-end adjustments • Prepare VAT returns under Making Tax Digital for review • Prepare draft year-end accounts and, with experience, corporation tax returns • Check work before review and act on corrections • Chase clients for missing records and escalate deadline risks to the Senior Accountant • Maintain accurate client records and workflow data • Use AI tools incorporated into Sleek’s products and workflows • Progress toward preparing draft year-end accounts and CT600s by month 12 • Work within a pod led by a UK-based Senior Accounts Manager and serve UK small business clients

🎯 Requirements

• A degree in commerce, accounting or finance (for example B.Com or BS Accountancy) • At least 2 years in accounting, including at least 1 year on UK clients • Experience with bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and VAT returns • Confidence with Xero, QuickBooks or a similar cloud accounting package • Written English sufficient to email UK clients directly • Based in India or the Philippines, with the right to work there • Ability to work a shift overlapping UK business hours • Willingness to undergo applicable background checks, including education, criminal history, political exposure, bankruptcy or adverse credit history checks • Nice to have: experience preparing draft UK year end accounts or CT600s
