📋 Description

• Design and build robust backend services and APIs in Java for a multi-tenant SaaS platform • Ship product features end-to-end and work directly with product and customers on what to build • Improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of owned services • Carry services through production on the AWS/Kubernetes platform • Maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and observability systems • Improve fast CI feedback, reliable development environments, and guardrails for agentic development • Drive architectural decisions covering service design and platform evolution

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building backend software at a product company • Strong Java skills, including APIs, asynchronous processing, concurrency, and performance tuning • Solid SQL in a backend context, including schema design, query optimization, and production migrations • Architectural judgment regarding API and service design, data flow, query patterns, latency, and failure modes • Production experience with Kubernetes and AWS, including EKS, IAM, networking, RDS, and S3 • Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code, including GitHub Actions, ArgoCD or Flux, Terraform or Pulumi, and scripting • Observability experience with metrics, logging, and tracing using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry • Experience writing tests • Production experience shipping code with AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor • Ability to work independently in a distributed, asynchronous team across 12+ countries • Fluent English • Good to have: multi-tenant SaaS at scale, high-growth startup experience, Python, regulated-environment experience, agentic workflows, and data quality/data management/data observability/ML monitoring experience
