📋 Description

• Own major features end to end with the design team, from decision through release • Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features • Review pull requests and provide developmental feedback • Unblock team members by investigating technical obstacles • Standardize successful implementations for team use • Maintain tested, clear, and consolidated shared components • Lead changes to team processes • Reduce manual intervention required for correct releases • Address recurring problems by improving underlying systems • Expand automated verification before QA nightly builds • Run planning focused on unresolved decisions • Define review requirements and sign-off practices • Participate in Product, Design, and Engineering discussions • Handle critical issues, own feature releases, and provide nightly builds for QA • Mentor early-career team members • Write and review code while owning features hands-on

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including time leading a team or owning a major surface while staying hands-on • Rock solid Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests • Experience shipping and maintaining background audio or other long-running background work • Understanding of the importance of tests and how to approach writing them, including what can't be covered by them • Experience introducing changes that persist within a team • Comfort asking people to change how they work and handling resulting friction • Ability to determine which changes need heavy review and which do not • Track record of building things used by the broader team • Ability to describe how the team works with AI agents • Product design intuition, user empathy, and drive to improve Android UI/UX • Self-drive to improve the app and codebase beyond the specification • Excellent communication skills • Several technical interviews plus an assessment on a real codebase • Links to a portfolio and LinkedIn
