📋 Description

• Own the control plane’s data model, workflows, APIs, and authorization rules • Design, build, deploy, debug, and operate the platform in production • Manage provisioning, fulfillment, model installation, and billing workflows across multiple systems • Build identity, tenancy, and authorization for people and machines • Ensure console, API, CLI, Terraform, and agent interfaces provide consistent platform behavior • Integrate with GPU and network providers, payment systems, and identity systems • Define and maintain infrastructure-facing contracts • Own orders, quotes, billing, and usage correctness • Participate in on-call, reliability, and engineering standards • Own the programmatic platform surface, including scoped machine credentials, management API, infrastructure-as-code, and agent access over MCP • Shape public contracts, declarative state management, machine principals, and agent permissions

🎯 Requirements

• Backend engineer capable of owning a system end to end • Experience owning a backend beyond a single service • Experience designing APIs used by other people • Deep PostgreSQL data modeling with database-enforced rules and row-level security • Experience building authentication and authorization for multi-tenant customers, including non-human callers • Experience building long-running operations involving idempotency, retries, and partial failure • Experience evolving production schemas under live traffic • Production Python experience, including testing, deployment, and debugging • Production on-call experience for a system built by the candidate • Experience debugging issues spanning the service and underlying infrastructure • Strongly preferred: experience building control planes, orchestrators, developer platforms, infrastructure SaaS, Terraform providers, Kubernetes operators, CLIs, SDKs, OAuth authorization servers, MCP servers, scoped-credential systems, billing or usage pipelines • Familiarity with compute, networking, or GPU infrastructure • Ability to work with SQL by hand and read query plans • Ability to work without complete specifications and across design, implementation, debugging, and operations • Willingness to work within strong standards and challenge them constructively • Willingness to participate in production and on-call responsibility • Ability to work in a high-paced early-stage startup
