📋 Description

• Review CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding for dermatology procedures • Generate, audit, and submit clean primary and secondary claims • Work insurance aging reports and investigate unpaid or underpaid claims • Post insurance payments from EOBs and ERAs • File appeals and reconsiderations • Verify patient balances and resolve billing discrepancies • Maintain complete, accurate billing notes within ModMed • Verify dermatology coding for general, surgical, and cosmetic procedures before claim submission • Investigate rejected or denied claims and correct coding or modifier errors • Follow up with commercial and government payers on outstanding claims exceeding 30 days in aging • Identify systemic payer denials or billing trends and report findings to management

🎯 Requirements

• Proven full-cycle medical billing experience supporting a Dermatology practice • Recent, direct hands-on experience using ModMed (Modernizing Medicine / EMA) • Solid command of dermatology-specific CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes, and modifier applications, including Modifier 25 and 59 • Hands-on experience across claims submission, ERA/EOB payment posting, denial resolution, and A/R aging follow-up • Self-starter mentality with ability to take ownership of complex aging accounts without micro-supervision • Private, HIPAA-compliant home office • Reliable computer setup • High-speed internet • Clear headset
