📋 Description

• Receive, triage, and manage high-volume cardiology referral intakes • Track referral requests from initial receipt through authorization approval and closure • Submit, track, and secure prior authorizations for cardiology office visits and specialist consultations • Verify insurance eligibility, copay, coinsurance, and network benefits • Coordinate with referring physician offices to obtain missing clinical documentation • Contact patients to explain coverage details and next steps • Manage Epic referral workqueues daily • Maintain accurate data entry, status updates, and clinical documentation • Contact insurance representatives to resolve authorization delays • Clarify medical necessity documentation to prevent service delays

🎯 Requirements

• Experienced, detail-oriented Referral & Authorization Coordinator • Direct hands-on experience using Epic EMR, specifically Referral and Authorization Workqueues (highly preferred) • Experience operating within a large medical group, health system, or enterprise clinical setting (highly preferred) • Bilingual English/Spanish for 2 of the 4 available openings (required for those openings) • Prior experience in a Cardiology practice or multi-specialty group (highly preferred) • Exposure to Medicare Advantage, state Medicaid programs, and major commercial payers (highly preferred) • Ability to manage high-volume cardiology referral intakes • Knowledge of HMO/PPO/POS authorization rules and payer guidelines • Experience verifying insurance eligibility, copay, coinsurance, and network benefits across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial carriers • Ability to obtain missing clinical documentation from referring physician offices • Ability to communicate coverage details and next steps to patients • Proficiency in accurate data entry, status updates, and clinical documentation in Epic • Ability to resolve authorization delays and clarify medical necessity documentation with insurance representatives
