📋 Description

• Use AI agents such as Claude Code and Cursor to design, build, debug, and optimize software • Build and evolve Derin’s client-facing results dashboard and participant web app using Next.js, React, and TypeScript • Implement data visualizations, filters, and multilingual survey experiences • Design and implement APIs using NestJS, Prisma, and PostgreSQL • Contribute to Python FastAPI services, including access control, exports, and data-retention features • Turn product requirements and designs into reusable components in the shared design system • Improve performance and reliability through server-side rendering, caching, pagination, and performance tuning • Maintain quality through automated tests, code reviews, and observability • Help run the develop-to-production release process, including hotfixes and dependency and security updates • Build security and privacy into handling sensitive participant data in a SOC 2 and HIPAA-compliant environment • Collaborate with product managers, designers, researchers, and backend/data engineers • Contribute to the engineering culture as the company grows

🎯 Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience building web applications with TypeScript • Strong production experience with React and Next.js, including App Router and server components/SSR • Experience building and maintaining backend APIs on a relational database, ideally PostgreSQL • Experience with Node.js, NestJS or similar, and Python, FastAPI or similar • TypeScript is the strongest language; productivity in Python and ability to read, modify, and ship Python service code • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (required) • Experience building data-heavy interfaces, including dashboards, charts, tables, and complex filters • Experience with testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or pytest • Experience with code review and CI/CD • Experience with a component library or design system and internationalization is a plus • Experience with LLM-powered features is a strong plus • Daily use of agentic tools such as Claude Code and Cursor; ability to configure context, rules, MCP servers, and subagents and evaluate their output • University degree in Computer Science or a related field • Independent, proactive, and able to deliver features end to end with minimal supervision • Fluent in English, written and spoken • Comfortable working remotely with substantial overlap with US Eastern and UK hours
