📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end cloud infrastructure strategy across the global footprint, including architecture, resourcing, maintenance, capacity planning, and vendor strategy across AWS, GCP, Azure, IBM, and OCI • Drive continuous infrastructure cost optimization through rightsizing, committed spend, tagging, chargeback discipline, and waste elimination • Partner with executives by translating infrastructure investments and tradeoffs into business terms and presenting roadmaps influencing CTO/CFO budget and planning decisions • Make and defend build-vs-buy, multi-cloud versus single-cloud, and centralize-versus-federate decisions • Manage cross-team dependencies with Security, Data, and Product Engineering • Build, mentor, and lead an infrastructure/platform/SRE team; conduct performance reviews and provide coaching • Own infrastructure security posture, disaster recovery, GDPR and other EU regulatory considerations, and incident management • Review infrastructure-as-code and team architecture, and provide hands-on support when needed • Secure innovation in the cloud for organizations through Sysdig's cloud security platform and Falco open standard

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of infrastructure/platform engineering experience • 4+ years directly leading infrastructure strategy and budget in a distributed systems environment • Proven experience leading cross-departmental initiatives in matrixed organizations • Demonstrated, measurable cloud cost optimization experience • Ability to present to and influence C-level executives • Deep hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud: AWS, GCP, or Azure • Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or Pulumi • Networking fundamentals • Experience with Kubernetes, containerized environments, and cloud-native technologies • Understanding of scalable, high-performance, event-driven infrastructure and reusable cloud components • Experience building high-availability, fault-tolerant platforms • Experience managing distributed/European teams and navigating EU-specific considerations • People management experience focused on coaching and developing managers and engineers • Experience or strong interest in CNAPP or FinOps is a plus • Passion for solving complex distributed-systems problems • Relentless execution mindset • Strategic decision-making under ambiguity and incomplete information • Collaborative, empathetic, high-ownership approach
