📋 Description

• Own the architecture and technical direction for core platform domains used by both squads • Spend 60–80% of time hands-on designing, coding, reviewing, pairing, and debugging in Laravel, Next.js, and cloud environments • Lead technical discovery and delivery of high-impact initiatives crossing team boundaries or requiring significant architectural change • Define, document, and promote architectural principles, coding standards, and scalable, resilient, observable system patterns • Champion shift-left testing, CI/CD improvements, production observability, test design, and validation • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, pairing, and feedback • Evaluate and prototype emerging technologies such as Vertex AI, GenAI workflows, and data pipelines • Represent engineering considerations in roadmap planning, estimation, and trade-off decisions • Work across both product squads on cross-cutting systems and difficult technical problems • Partner with Engineering Leadership on long-term architecture and Tech Leads on execution and engineering practices • Lead test strategy and validation; own test coverage, pipeline health, and regression control • Drive scalability, stability, technical alignment, engineering quality, AI readiness, and multi-cloud platform capabilities

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in software engineering, including experience as a staff/principal engineer or architect in a SaaS company • Deep expertise in backend engineering with Laravel (Laravel 10+ and PHP 8+) or similar languages, SQL/relational databases, caching, and RESTful APIs • Strong frontend design and architectural experience with React/Next.js • Experience working with scalable, secure cloud infrastructure (AWS required, & CGP) • Familiarity with event-driven or modular architectures and containerized environments (e.g., EKS/Kubernetes) • Deep understanding of software testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines • Experience with Looker, BigQuery, ML pipelines, or distributed system performance tuning (bonus) • Experience with Agent AI Architecture (bonus) • Feature delivery velocity using Copilot, Gemini, test automation, and scaffolding • Experience building AI-augmented product experiences, including LLM API usage and prompt design • Ability to coach others on integrating GenAI into workflows • Ability to lead through influence, mentor engineers, set standards, and share knowledge • Documentation-first approach, including documenting decisions, code, and processes
